Effective October 11, 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and Ampacity.ai ("Ampacity.ai," "we," "us" or "our"). They cover the ampacity.ai website, the app at app.ampacity.ai, and the public panel sheets the app publishes (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
The Service is for business use by people who work on electrical systems. It is not a consumer product.
If you use the Service for a company, you confirm that you may accept these terms for that company, and "you" in these terms includes it.
Ampacity.ai turns photos and typed entries of panel schedules into an editable electrical record, and calculates panel loads from that record.
We change the Service over time. We may add, change or remove features. A feature we describe as coming soon may arrive later than planned, arrive in a different form, or not arrive. We do not promise a date for anything that is not available today.
We fix and update our calculation rules. When we do, a figure the Service showed you before can change. Check a figure again before you rely on it for a new decision.
You sign in through Clerk, our sign-in provider. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, that company's terms also apply to how you sign in. Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Each account and each subscription is for one person. Do not share an account.
Keep your account information accurate and your email address current. We use that address to reach you about your account, your billing and changes to these terms.
Basic costs $99 a month, or $990 a year, for one user. Team and Custom plans are set up with us directly: write to support@ampacity.ai. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
The Basic trial lasts 14 days and is free. Starting it requires a credit card. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your Basic subscription starts when the trial ends and we charge your card the price you chose at checkout. If you cancel during the trial, we do not charge you.
Using the app requires a trial or a subscription. If your trial or subscription ends, your account stays open without one. An account without a subscription is view-only: it keeps its data, and you can view and print it, but you cannot add or change anything.
To subscribe, choose monthly or yearly billing at checkout and enter a credit card. Stripe processes the payment for us through Clerk Billing. We never see your full credit card number.
Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. A monthly subscription renews every month and a yearly subscription renews every year, on the date you first subscribed. At each renewal, we charge your subscription's price to the credit card on file.
You can cancel online at any time. In the app, open the account menu, choose Manage account, then Billing. You can also email support@ampacity.ai to cancel.
When you cancel, we do not charge you again. Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account continues without a subscription. We do not refund part of a billing period.
After you subscribe, we send you an email confirming the price, how renewal works and how to cancel. We email you at least 14 days before a price change applies to your subscription. If you pay yearly, we also email you a reminder at least 15 days before each renewal.
The Service calculates panel loads using the NEC 2023 rules as we have built them into the software. Those figures support your work. They do not replace the judgment of the qualified person responsible for the installation.
Before a figure from the Service is used to design, build, permit or change an installation, that person must check the inputs and the results. The Service does not produce a sealed engineering document or a licensed engineer's calculation. Where your jurisdiction or your client requires one, get it from a licensed professional.
Your jurisdiction may have adopted a different edition of the NEC, or local amendments to it. The Service does not know which rules apply to your project.
Photo imports are read by an AI model, and it can misread a value. Compare every imported schedule with its source photo before you rely on it.
Using the Service does not create an engineer–client relationship between you and Ampacity.ai or anyone who works on it.
You own the photos, panel data and other content you put into the Service. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display that content as needed to run the Service for you, and to use the images you upload to improve how we read them. We do not train AI models on your content. That includes sending your photos to our AI provider to read them, and publishing the public sheets described in "Public panel sheets and QR codes" below. We do not share your content outside Ampacity.ai except as our Privacy Policy describes.
Upload only content you have the right to use. Do not upload personal information about other people that the Service does not need.
Project data stays with its project after you close your account, unless you ask us to remove it.
To find and fix problems, the app keeps a replay of each session in the app (what was on screen, where you clicked and what you typed, except passwords, one-time sign-in codes and card details) and reports errors to us. Replays are deleted after 30 days and are never used for advertising. Our service provider PostHog stores them, as our Privacy Policy describes. Do not put information into the Service that you are not allowed to share with us and our service providers. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Every panel and piece of equipment in the Service has its own public link. Anyone who has the link can open that item's read-only sheet without an account, for example by scanning a QR code printed and placed on the equipment. Our Privacy Policy lists what a sheet shows.
We do not publish a list of these links, and they are hard to guess. We cannot control who a printed or shared link reaches. Do not print or share a link for equipment whose details you are not allowed to make public.
When you use the Service:
You can stop using the Service at any time. To close your account, email support@ampacity.ai from the address on your account. Closing it deletes your personal data and cancels any subscription. Project data stays with its project unless you ask us to remove it, as our Privacy Policy describes.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, or that puts the Service or other users at risk. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem and get a copy of your data.
You can ask for a copy of your data before your account closes. Our Privacy Policy explains how export and deletion work.
We work to keep the Service accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the extent the law allows, Ampacity.ai is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or project delays, that arise from your use of the Service. That includes a decision made on a figure the Service produced.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct.
If someone makes a claim against Ampacity.ai because of content you uploaded or because you broke these terms, you will cover the reasonable costs of that claim, including legal fees.
California law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Before you file a claim, email support@ampacity.ai to describe it and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
Any lawsuit about these terms or the Service must be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Mateo County, California. You and we agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.
We may update these terms. When we do, we post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
For a change that materially affects your rights or your subscription, we email the address on your account at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that date, the new terms apply. If you do not agree to them, cancel and stop using the Service before that date.
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Ampacity.ai about the Service.
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
You may not transfer these terms to anyone else without our written consent. We may transfer them to a business that takes over the Service.
